Welcome back readers. The regular season has been quite the doozy. Before I knew it, playoffs have arrived and we will be saying farewell to two lowest performing Franchises. One of those is the LA Complexity but the other has yet to be decided. It has come down to the wire for the Chicago Chimera and the Carolina Core. Nostalgic sentiments are running through my head, because these two teams battled for the championship at the world finals last year and now they are grasping for every point to secure a spot in the playoffs. Indeed, a lot has changed when comparing this year to last season. So much so, that I think I will save you the details for a future article.
Yesterday, in an un-televised match, Chicago Chimera lost to the Dallas Venom like I had predicted. Fortunately for them however, the LA Complexity finally achieved their first win against the Carolina Core, keeping Chimera's playoff dreams alive. Belle also got her first win ever during that match. I must say, there's something prophetic about how belle's win corresponded to the Complexity's first franchise win...
Chicago Chimera vs. San Francisco Optx
As I'm sure you've heard before, this is a do or die situation for Chimera. They have to come up big against the Optx in order make up ground if they want to slip their way into playoffs. Fortunately for Chimera, the Optx is not battling for survival any longer, they are guaranteed the #3 spot so this upcoming match should be no sweat off their backs. The Optx is just happy to be in playoffs right now, i don't believe kathunter is putting the pressure on her team to pull out a win. This is a perfect scenario for Chimera, and I'm sure Brian Flander will take full advantage.
Optx's CSS team surprised everyone last Wednesday. Their upset might make you think that things have finally clicked. Unfortunately, I don't believe that's the case. Complexity's CSS has a problem with freezing up on second half, Optx just took advantage of that. I expect that Moe and the guys will put up a fight but in the end the struggling Chimera.CSS will dominate like they did to Optx in the past.
By now Vanessa should be well rested and ready to game. Even if she's still deathly ill, KasumiChan should pose no real threat to Vanessa. It would be nice to see KasumiChan to finally make a come back against one of the best DOA-Females in the world, but I wont predict her to, although I'll still hope it will happen.
